R.I.P. ratty Eva
About 10 minutes ago my rat Eva squeaked and jump in the cage. I went to see what was going and she was lying on her side, not moving. I picked her up, she tryied to struggle, she seemed to be gasping for air. I gently opened her mouth, there was nothing in her airway. After a minute in my hands, she stopped breathing, so did her heartbeat and her body became limp.
She's dead. :-(

damn. She had a good life. Rats don't usually live long anyway. Might as well get Blackie ready for breeding.
I'm sorry for the loss of your pet.
Just know that other rats will soon steal your heart, if you give them a chance.
Many of us all around the world have come to know your rats through your blog and pics.
I don't wish to put words in anyone else's mouths, but I'm sure I speak for many out there when i say we feel Eva's absence, and hope for the best for you.
The cycle of life continues, but one thing is known you can't replace Eva,

I put Eva's body in a nice little bag and dropped her in the St-Laurent river this morning at the old port.

I'm so sorry, Sirkowski! I will miss little Eva... even though I never met her. But I know she was your baby and she's not in pain anymore. I also hope that Blackie will not be unduly affected by this.
