If you thought Miss South Carolina was bad...

...you should read what political think-tank can come up with. Philip Atkinson, a lazy bum who lives on corporate welfare, wrote a piece claiming that the United States should commit nuclear genocide in Iraq and install George W. Bush as dictator for life.

The full text is here. Philip Atkinson work for The Family Security Foundation, Inc. which is an arm of Family Security Matters, a conservative think-tank. And as wingnutty as it is, it isn't exactly fringe. Family Security Matters counts people like former CIA boss James Woolsey on its board of directors. The piece was saved thanks to Google Cache, since Family Security Matters has started to erase all trace of the article since it became noticed.

TL;DR version, Atkinson says democracy has its limits and that's the reason why Iraq is a quagmire. Start by nuking Iraq and then crown Bush permanant Imperator. Atkinson uses a historical precedent, the rise to power of Julius Cesar, to make his case. He doesn't mention that Cesar fucking killed the Roman Republic and caused a bloody civil war. Cesar left behind a system of retarded inbred blood-line political system. And did he really forget the circumstances of Cesar's death?? Someone paid that guy to write that shit???

If President Bush copied Julius Caesar by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans, he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military; enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it from a liability to an asset); and boost American prestiege while terrifying American enemies.

He could then follow Caesar's example and use his newfound popularity with the military to wield military power to become the first permanent president of America, and end the civil chaos caused by the continually squabbling Congress and the out-of-control Supreme Court.

WHAT THE FUCK?!?! o_O The Roman Empire never exterminated entire nation to re-populate them with Romans. Not in any massive scale anyway. And how would Americans colonize a radioactive Iraq? Maybe he should learn how nukes work before advocating nuclear holocaust.

I wonder if he broke any laws by suggesting this? If freedom of speech doesn't protect sedition, why should it protect this? Whichever President finally decides to bring the troops home is gonna need uber body guards. Timothy McVeight was just a pussy compared to what's coming.

That must be political suicide to even be NEAR a clown that voices that kind of an opinion, much less say them. I struggle to accept that he actually said those things they are so mad. If however he did, he should probably have a flick through mein Kampf too. Maybe grow a little mustache, Invest in some jack-boots...

Most people who read this thought it was a joke at first. Until they found the article with Google Cache on the Family Security Matters website.

Atkinson doesn't have a job. He lives on his wife's salary and whatever he gets of corporate welfare from these wingnut think-tank. So yes, he is a tin-foil hat loony who base his philosophy on why he got picked on by bullies at school. I'm not kidding, check out his bio http://www.ourcivilisation.com/author.htm

But the problem here is this tin-foil hat dumbass is actually getting paid towrite this shit.

At least Ted Kazinski (the Unabomber) was doing it pro-bono. @_@

This guy is messed up; just reading his bio is fucked, with a crazy father that moved his family into the ghetto because the poor were the hero's of the novel 1984...
I don’t think he understands however that if the United States was overthrown into a dictatorship and started going off with a Muslim holocaust it would initiate WW3.

Sirk,

If you hadn't heard about it already, I'd suggest you look up the "Business Plot" on wikipedia. During the depression and the rise of Hitler, some uber businessmen tried to hire a retired general to stage a coup. They literally wanted to make a fascist state very much modeled after Hitler's Germany. This also included putting "Undesirables" (unemployed, disgruntled vets begging for promised benefits, non-whites, bohemians) into camps and eventually exterminating them. Well the old general had sworn to uphold the constitution so he turned them in. There was a congressional hearing, but nothing came of it, except for finding that there was at least open discussion of it. Among the ringleaders were the owners of Dow Chemical (makers of Zyklon-B, "Kills Jews Dead!") and Prescott Bush, Dubya's grandpappy. He also, for his college billionaire boy's club, stole Geronimo's skull. NOT an "urban legend", a biographer of him uncovered some letters to fellow "Bonesmen" where he talked about it, the only debate is whether they have Geronimo's real skull for their necromantic rituals. Literally, they lie in coffins playing with themselves and kiss the skulls. But they then pretend they are "Good Christians" to get the few legitimate votes they actually got.

Ok, what is the next phase of his plan? Cause WW3 and self-proclaim himself ruler of the Earth? At least, it seems to be just empty talk. Now, if he were to appear on CBN with Pat Robertson, that would move the security level to...red?

At least they're trying to erase all traces of this. Probably not for the right reasons, but at least someone realized it would sound crazy.

Ya, I heard a BBC radio doc about the "Business Plot". Crazy scary stuff. Canada would have been really fucked if the USA had joined the Axis. o_O

I disagree with you here, Sirk, on the issue of Cæsar "ruining" the "Republic".
Firstly, the "Republic" was as rotten as any corrupt, nepotist third-world state.
Secondly, it wasn't until his nephew, Octavius, aka Augustus, that the state effectively became a monarchy again.
Michael Parenti wrote an interesting book on the subject: "The Assassination of Julius Caesar"

the only thing that scares me more about the idea of the u.s. joining the axis is how probable it looks on paper, i mean Nazis were racist/ my people had segregation back then, also native Americans were asinged to boarding schools to correct them of their "heathen" ways,

but then again F.D.R's own resentment towards Europeans based on their being "evil imperialists" in his eyes and Hitler seeing America's segregation laws as to intagrational stopped eny idea of a "Axis USA" thank god

Anders, if the Roman Republic was rotten to the core, why didn't Cesar use his power to save it instead of ruling it like a tyrant?

Cesar left a state where Augustus could crown himself emperor, so it is his fault. I know it's not black and white and that the system Cesar was far from perfect. There's even a great possibility that if Cesar had not made himself dictator, someone else would have. But the excuses people give Cesar is the same excuse dictators use today. "Gotta kill the republic to save it".

People give free passes to old dictators because the slaughter is so far. Alexander, Napoleon, etc. Cesar was a great general, but a shitty statesman.

Sirk, you brought to mind another figure in history who turned out to be a capable military leader, but a crap-tacular political figure. Check out the administration of Ulysses S. Grant, while he was President, riding on the name recognition from the war.

Funny how most military figures, once they become political figures, quickly drive to Hell the same system they fought so hard for earlier.

grant was a bad pres because he didn't know how to speak the sleez bag language of the polotitions around him resulting in him being manipulated in to some bad shit ,not because he him self was a bad person
and might i remind you when grants turm was up HE STEPPED DOWN like a pres should, so even if he wasn't the best president hes a FAR fucking cry from being an Alexander, Napoleon or a Cesar.
so why are you lumping him in with them? what dirt do you have on pres. grant?

Like Anonymous said, it's a stretch. For all his faults, at least Grant wasn't a dictator.

Family Security Matters sounds like a spin off to Family Matters. I wonder if Reginald VelJohnson works their as a security guard?

But the "Glass Parking Lot" idea is long since dead, and the Department of Defense is finally realizing that the best way to get things done is to disobey the presidents orders, hence the reason why several key military personel have been fired, reassigned, or quit.

Who needs nukes when the biggest bomb the Americans have is political leadership with a theocratic oligarchy the military is quietly trying to fend off so that they can actually do their damn job.

Not to lump Grant with figures like Napoleon and Cesar, at least he did his job like he should have done, but he could have done more to help incriminate members of his cabinet when they were found to be corrupt, instead of standing by them and offering pardons all around. To his credit though, it was more his administration that was the problem, not Grant himself.

thats more like it, i personally got the idea from the history channel that grant really didn't totally get wtf was going on

and by the way Bushido Hacks because of the extensive faith their putting in to general Dave Pertrayez ,how long do you think it will be before the theocrat's in government learn some how to shut the fuck up and LET the military do their damn job or have those Bushy Christian jihadist wannabes learned some humility all ready

"If this were a dictatorship it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator" ~ George W. Bush

Have you ever heard of Alex Jones?
