Miss Dynamite figurines prices

The figurines would end up costing about 40-50$ each. Eva would be 6 to 8 inches tall/Blackie proportional.

I wouldn't be making much of a profit, but my main goal was to not lose any money anyway.

What say you? Do I cough up the 3000$?

That would be for 50 figurines each. The minimum order is 30; that would be 2200$

Or I play it even more safe and only order 50 copies of Eva and commission Blackie later if all works well. Final cost 1500$.

sorry had to edit
whait 6 to 8 feet? please tell me you mean inches
i think you should play it safe to start, with eva only. $40 dollors sounds fair u make a profit of $10 each (minus shiping cost because i have no idea what it would be)unless the company does free shiping

OOPS! Ya, inches XD Eva isn't even close to 6 feet tall.

I'm leaning heavily on commission only Eva for now. 50 copies. For those who want Blackie, I can say, "buy enough Evas and I'll make Blackie!"

I'd say go with just the one first. If worst comes to worst and it doesn't sell too well then you won't have spent quite so much money.

Plus, people are more willing to spend 50$ on two separate occasions rather than 100$ all at once. That's why they always release action figures in separate waves.

well damn I want the blackie one. before I want the Eva. Blast.

Im nto a salesman but I would definitley role with the minimum order.

Not to knock ya or anything but I dont htink your at a popilarity level where you could sell to many.

hell i have an exclusive cortana from halo statue and they only made 1000 of those. and it wasnt that really that hard to get.

granted 30 or 50 is only a fraction of 1000
but the scale is pretty even.
Bungie > sirkowski in poplarity scae,

anyways thats just my 2 cents and comparison.

However i guess tht really is a deal for the extra 20 and could be a profit if you manage to sell them all. . . hmmm

there is always someone who can do the job cheaper ,was this the only company you found??

The only way this could be cheaper, no matter who does it, would be for me to order over 500 copies. Which would cost 10 500$ and I would be able to sell them all anyway.

And yes, I found other companies.

Think of it this way, folks - with all the free art that Sirk's posted over the years, commissioning these figurines would be one way of saying 'Thank you'. ^_^

(And probably keep Eva from sniping us) ~_^

I suppose the only real question to ask would be 'Cash, Cheque or Money Order?'

@Anonymous
I think they'll be more like those miniature 'Heroes' figurines you'd see in your local toy shop.

Not that there wouldn't be a (niche) market for those sorts of 'custom made figures', mind you. ^_^!

I wish I had the money right now, but I don't and probably won't for at least another three months at the very minimum..

I just hope that when I do have the money they'll still be around for me to get :3

I wish you could get them cheaper. You're going to be spending a lot on these very expensive figures.

6" to 8" inches is action figure size, but you have a chibi design. Maybe you could make them only 3" or 4" inches and cut back on cost.

I suggest you try other companies first. I love Eva, but I surely not gonna cough up that much cash for a figurine. A lap dance maybe...
I have run across several Chinese toy manufacturers that you might be interested in. Some of which do state they will work on original designs. But considering the product recalls from China in toys and jewelry, maybe not. Reply to me if you are interested and I'll give you the links.

I'm weary of stuff that's too cheap to be true, especially if it's from China. Also, Chinese companies usually ask for at least a thousand copies. I can't sell that many.

This leads to the real cost of making a figurine. It's the prototype. The more copies I order, the it's cushions the cost of the prototype. But there's a limit to how many I can sell. That also means a smaller figurine wouldn't cost much less. I'm just a small guy selling his stuff on his ill-designed website and at conventions. I can't compete with the prices at Toy R Us.

In the end, this is not going to be cheap and I'm sorry if some people can't afford it. I'm not pressuring anyone into buying it. The main reason I'm doing this is for fun and I don't expect to make much of a profit. My main objective is to avoid losing loads of cash.

The design is not final. Perhaps I could make a tall proportional figurine if the price is going to be the same anyway. More on that later.

Argghh, you know what this means. As a card carrying member of the "It's everybody else's fault but MINE because I am from elitist douche-bag society" I must buy thing I do not need and blame it on person selling it to me. So it's your fault I will buy one. Blackie though, and please include drool-rag. And has anyone seen my medication?

Go for a proportional bad ass looking Eva, in a more aggressive pose, and I'll buy one. (Ok, Ill probably buy one anyway.)

Well, there is another option, kind of sort of. But it all really depends on if you thought you could make a prototype yourself? I use silicone molds to replicate small statues at work all the time. I'm guessing that the material to make your first "master" copy, and to make the first mold would be $100ish (US). But, like I said, it depends on whether you could sculpt the original, and I know that would be a bitch.

I haven't sculpted a lot and it would be kind of complicated. And I'm not even sure it would be that less expensive since I wouldn't be buying my material in bulk like a figurine company does.
