Dead people don't have anything to offer to us so they shouldn't be celebrated.
Hell if I know why I'm saying this but whenever someone dies I don't feel sorrow, I don't feel any remorse, I only feel that that person's life has ended, has no more meaning to us, and has no way of influencing us further.
Not to say that there weren't great leaders and people who have made a tremendous difference while they were alive (and also set an example to live by even long after they died); but the majority of dead people are just decaying piles of flesh sealed in wood and fabric and interred beneath a headstone and a pile of dirt.
Fuck the dead, I've got other things to do with my time while I have it to be spending all of it weeping and mourning over someone.

During my short (12 year) tenure as a christian I learned to think for myself and that the only way to actually learn anything about Jesus or anything was to ask questions that couldn't be answered by simply quoting scripture but required actual thought.
