"Will you marry me?" -DENIED!

Saw this vid at Pandagon. And I agree with Amanda; people who make proposals in public are probably hoping to coerce the other into saying yes. But in any case, the loser got OWNED! And it's well deserved. The reaction of the mascot is priceless and so is the basketball player who's laughing. Props to the girl for saying no in public. And she looks fine.

You got a dead link man, I had to catch the video at youtube here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQEKgm1yi4M

I'm disappointed that they didn't want to get married, but I'm not otherwise phased by this, or disappointed in either of their actions. It's real easy to look down on another person when they fail in life, isn't it? Especially when you're on the outside looking in at a time when you're not exactly coming out on top in your own life. Something like this could give you a nice ego boost as you say to yourself, "You'll never see me do some stupid shit like that," and then you remember quietly that you're still single, but I think this was a great thing that happened to both of them even though it ended badly. We don't know what was going on in their relationship before this, but I think it's better to find out that you're not a fit for each other sooner rather than later in a relationship. I mean, would you rather break up with a gal when dating, or go through some messy ass divorce?

If the woman doesn't want to marry the guy when he proposes to her in front of thousands of strangers and millions more on national television, then all I can really say is that they've both got guts. The guy for having the courage to risk a public rejection in expressing the sincerity of his interest in spending the rest of his life with one woman, and the gal for having the courage to voice that she doesn't want him in a way so clear and fluid that the guy would have to be a total moron to rationalize it as anything less than total rejection. I hope the guy is smart enough to know he has no future with this gal, and that he shouldn't spend anymore time on her, and I hope this gal isn't some kook who'll try to string him along in light of this.

Props to the both of them for having guts to do what they wanted, we could all learn a lot from this.

The guy is a manipulative asshole for doing this. Serves him right.

I don't think he was trying to be manipulative. I think he was trying to be romantic in a jock sort of way. I think he went through a lot of trouble to arrange that event and thought she would be flattered. He probably went to jump off a bridge right after the game.

She does have a lot of balls though, that's for sure. She was like "uh.. no fucking way." Who knows, maybe they only knew eachother for two weeks.

If it's a jock sort of way then it pretty much confirms it to me.

Even after the reaction play ups by the mascot, the red-faced "prediction" by the announcer, and getting laughed at on TV by T-Mac, the funniest part to me is the "consolation prize" the guy got in the form of a free plastic cup of beer! If you just got shut down on that large of a scale, I don't think a little $8 cup of watered down suds will help.

Hehe, being forced into marriage is not cool. However, I think that when a man pulls this kinda stuff he's talked with his lady before about marriage. We're talking 2 or 3 years relationship. A man knowing that the woman wants to be with him for the rest of his life would of course say yes.

I think in this situation , however, the man is a dumb fuck and probably never brought up marriage before. My only other guess is that this a staged hoax. Geez what an idiot if this is real.
