When I was over there we used to throw shit to the kids all the damn time when out on patrol. Water, candy, MREs (which they would bust open and eat only the crackers and candy out of) and tons of other shit. Around holidays mostly, when we would get so much stuff from back home we wouldn't know what to do with it. We also did a lot of official missions, passing out school supplies, clothes, that kind of thing. Sometimes it would get bad though. If you weren't paying attention you would run out of stuff to give 'em while you were stopped somewhere and they would strip whatever they could get a hold right off your truck. Some poor bastards were in a Bradley on a 10 day long patrol/checkpoint mission in Sadr City when a crowd of kids just out of school stripped off every ruck sack strapped to the side of the vehicle cause they didn't have any stuff they could give them. About a dozen guys lost a good half of their gear and had to go the rest of the mission with what they had on their backs. What you see in this video is only half the story, but I admit those guys are real assholes (and ones even a Sargent), if they were in my platoon they would be on shit burning detail for stupid crap like that.

Pfft, what a bunch of idiots. They're making more terrorists than they are thwarting. The scary thing is, when these kids grow up, their anti-American sentiments will grow up influencing a whole Iraqi generation against the whole western world, even those of us who don't stand for this "frat boy" behavior.
And Macabre, I share your hopes that they get what's coming to them.
It's because of videos like this that I'm vehemently antimilitary. I hope the people responsible for this video are in little tiny bits right now because they deserve it.
Yeah, that's sad.. People never learn to give a shit about people. They wouldn't do this if those children were from any other nation.
In times like this, people forget that "the enemy" are human beings and not just some outlett for hate and degredation. But then again, people have been doing this for thousands of years so I suppose change really is too much to ask for.
=\ I wouldn't really say that people deserve bad things to happen to them.. but if they WERE to happen.. I'm sure I wouldn't mind. :p
