Three Ex-Guantanamo Prisoners Are Released

Saudi Arabia has freed three former Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, detainees who have completed their jail sentences in their home country, the state news agency SPA reported.

It said the three were handed over last year by the United States, which operates the prison at its naval base at Guantanamo Bay.

Either terrorism is considered a misdemeanor in Saudi Arabia, or these guys weren't doing much terror.

I've been toying with the design of two new characters lately for the Miss Dynamite anime series. The Pu Sisters: Pu Tang and Pu Nani *snort*
I got first dibs on these names!
Both a terrorists from South-East Asia.
Pu Tang, the bossomy older sister is serious and frigid.
Pu Nani on the other hand is petite and horny.

I imagine you can see where this is going...

Please check the gallery and tell me if they look too much like already existing charcters. I think Pu Nani might look a bit like a girl from a fighting game, but I can't remember which one and if it's that much the same.

Banned from DeviantArt: The full story

Ok, I'm really over it. But I gotta tell that story about twice a day to people who just discovered I got banned. So I'm gonna write one final post where I will explain everything. Then I'll be able to direct people here and it'll be easier for me.

How it began:
Someone pointed me to the case of Suzi9mm, a DeviantArt (DA) admin who is above the rules. She could get away with policy violations people like me could not. For exemple, this picture includes breats grabbing. That's a DA policy violation. Don't waste your time reporting it, it's not going away. But the fact that Suzi9mm is an admin was not the only reason she was above the rules. She also works with Suicide Girls, a sponsor of DA. And I guess you don't censor a cash cow. I did also point out that Suzi9mm's art was overrated and crap.

The first ban:
My first ban was only temporary. But I didn't really know that until I got unbanned two weeks later. As well as getting banned, 26 of my Deviations got deleted. Some Miss Dynamite anime episodes were deleted for Copyright Violation, which you'll gather makes no sense at all. From the looks of it, they deleted stuff from gallery quite randomly. An admin was obviously pissed off at me.

I'm leaving:
As I've said before, you can't really call this a matter of Freedom of Speech. DA is privatly owned (or stolen by Spyed) and they do what they please with it. My problem wasn't that they had rules, my problem was the rules were inconsistant and highly subjective. For exemple, a pic like this one would have been deleted on DA. Why? Because Link as an erection, through his clothes...
Of course, if you're admin/sponsor, you're clear.
When you decide that you're banning pornographic nudity but allowing artistic nudity, you're opening a can of worms. The difference between art and pornography is so subjective even the US Supreme Court couldn't define it.
So I had it with these people, I should have left way before to concentrate my activities on my own website. All the time I was on DA, I was providing them with free art so they could collect money from their sponsor. And I ain't got shit for it. I even bought a Prints account, which is a scam, I never sold one single print (And it's not because I can't sell anything, because I've sold mangas on my website).
And I didn't forget the time I tried to have the American National-Socialist Union club on DA kicked out for promoting their Nazi ideology.

How to leave?:
After taking the decision of leaving, I first decided to leave with a bang and do something that would get me banned for good. Then after thinking some more, I wasn't so sure it was a good idea. I knew some people who are DA admins and I didn't want them to think I was dissing them too. Could DA even be petty enough to sue me?? On the other hand, I didn't want my art to remain on DA. They would continue making money from the ads when people would surf through my gallery and I didn't want that. Manually deleting every single pics would have taken a whole day, quite a pain in the ass. Then people where expecting me to fight dah man one last time. And hey! what can I say, I'm a crowd pleaser. Also, getting a permanant ban would get rid of my gallery with one swift blow. So yeah, FUCK THEM IN TEH ASS!

Leaving with a BANG!:
And so I drew one last deviation that would get me banned once and for all. I announced it the day before and apparently (I was counting on that) the DA admins were keeping a close eye on me, because when I uploaded the pic, I was banned 30 SECONDS later! hahaha! Very few people got the chance to see it happen live.

After the ban:
What now? I've opened a gallery on MissDynamite.com. Now all the Google ad revenues will go directly to me and I'm hoping I can install a plug-in to the gallery software that would allow comments (I can already do it with HaloScan, but it's a pain). Journal entries will go on EvasBlogOfTerror, so I'm hoping this blog gets more traffic. Use the RSS feed for updates, or use the FeedBlitz subscription if you don't know how to use feeds (it on the right, next to the Google ad).

And thus this closes the DeviantArt chapter of my so far weird career.

That was the first combat shot I made for Miss Dynamite XX. It was actually a test, so it's not the best I've done as far as smooth movements in this episode. But it's good enough to use for the beginning of the battle.

USB Drives and magnets

I've been wondering for a while if putting a USB flash drive too close to a magnet can cause a loss of data or even damage the drive itself.

I remember back in college, a teacher told us not to put our backpacks on the floor of the subway train. The electrical system that powers the trains creates a magnetic field that could damage the data on our big floppies. And those floppies usualy were in our backpacks.

I know the data storage system of a flash drive is different than a floppy. While floppies used magnetic dics, the flash drive uses some sort of gates that traps electrons (or at least that what I could understand from the Wikipedia entry). Can electrons be affected by magnetic fields? I was drawing Miss Dynamite comics during the class on atomic science during physics in high school... X-
It can be affected by static electricity, that I know. That's why USB drives are protected in a plastic case.

So, does anyone knows? I'm too scared to test mine.

Just check the thumbnails, it's the five new pics. I didn't sculpt this, I only made the original design. It's the first time I see my stuff in 3d and I love it.

I had a proposition to make the same sculptures for Eva and Blackie of Miss Dynamite. But at over 70$ a piece and seeing how I don't sell too many mangas at only 15$ for 3... I don't think it's worth it at the moment.

The animation of the intro is done. But there's still a lot to do. The new blending effects in Flash 8 are pretty cool, as seen here.

A mini cage for Eva and Blackie

I built a small portable cage for when I'm travelling with the rats. If we go outside they stay on my shoulders or inside my shirt, but it's good to have a cage to put them in if you have something to do or if the rats are being pests (rats, pests, argh, sorry!).

Anyway, I used a plastic container from Dollarama with a piece of a bird cage I found in the trash a while ago. I also found this neat little water bottle at the pet shop.
Blackie didn't seem pleased with the final result... X-)
It doesn't really matter because it's only for short periods of time. It'll just be a minor annoyance for them.

At 7pm precise, I dropped the bomb, 30 seconds, I was banned for good! lol I think the DA staff was keeping a close eye on me. This had the benefit that I didn't need to manually erase all the pics in my gallery.

When new Deviants comment on my pictures, I usualy visit their gallery to see if they would be worth putting on DevWatch. And occasionally, I fall on a Nazi. There's nothing more hearthwarming than a fascist telling how much your art is appreciated... :paranoid:

Of course, you shouldn't expect much from some 15 year old goth wannabee who has a Swastika avatar and tells everyone National Socialism was missunderstood. And of course, the Nazies never gased millions of Jew, Russians, Pols, Homos, etc. Yeah, sure... :sarcasticclap:

And as for those who use the Swastika but claim they're not Nazies and the Swastika is a symbol that predates WWII. What these morons don't know is the difference between the sinistroverse swastika (counterclockwise, a symbol of evil) and the destroverse swastika (clockwise, a symbol of life). In this age of political correctness, even the Nazies are looking for acceptance (kinda like the pedophiles with NAMBLA). Freedom is for those who life free and help others do the same.
Peace is for those who live in peace and do not wage war.
And tolerance is for those are willing to be tolerant.

So dear DeviantArt Nazies, do not complain you are unjustly treated when we piss on you. Do not claim we are not open minded when we refuse to hear your arguements. The time I nearly got into a fight in the subway

June 30th 2005

I was returning from the comic jam and I was alone in the subway (alone in the sense that no friends were there but there was subway commuters). Then for no reason, just because they're were standing there, two Middle-Eastern teens (probably from North Africa from the accent) started insulting two homosexuals.
Now, personnally, I wouldn't have known they were gay. They were metrosexual for sure, but so many hetero dress like that. But it does seem they were gay because they didn't take kindly to the insult and one of them started to ask the two teens to show some respect. And in the circumstances, the guy was polite.
Now starring at the verbal fight happening right next to me, my instinct are telling to get the fuck away from there. Or even call a security guard.
But the two teens didn't appreciate having a "faggot" stand to them, it was apparent it was gonna get ugly very fast and nobody was gonna do anything (you know how crowds are in the city). So I told those two teens that this was enough and that if this broke into a fight and the police had to come, they'd be the ones in trouble. They said they didn't care, but they had too, it was now two against three.

Now, maybe that's the part that wasn't too smart. I don't know if these guys were Christians or Muslims, but coming from North Africa with an attitude like that, they're not atheists. So I told them "We live in Quebec here, and people have rights!"
Now THAT pissed them off. It might sound racist, but it's true. When in Rome, do as the Romans. Canada isn't a cavehole in Afghanistan, it's a civilized country and there is no excuse for that kind of behavior. Wether they were born here or not makes no difference. That's the mistake of multiculturalism, the mistake of accepting the flaws that come with a culture, out of respect. That's one thing I do admire in the USA, it's the assimilation. You adapt, you change or you stay away.
But anyway, then came the subway, some other guy came and told them to forget it and walk away, so they started insulting that guy too. We all got out in different wagons and it was over.

Well, not quite over. Those two guys got off at the same stop as I did. Nothing happend. But being alone I was quite nervous and watched my back to make sure I wasn't being followed. I was taller and much bigger than those guys, but still, you never know. Someone could carry a weapon or get you from behind.

I'm still not sure if I did the right thing. Probably, I feel I did. There was a lot of people there, so it sent a message. But it was still risky. It's weird this had to happend the same week as the gay marriage thing. Does this happend often? I don't think so. Then again, I don't get out that much.
So you see you Americans out there, there's asshole too in Canada.

Is Atheism a Religion?

(Note: I am gonna do something that will get me banned from DeviantArt, so I'm cleaning my account and saving some journal posts on my Blog. Think of it as a best of.)

Everytime I write about religion, there's always someone who has to come and tell me that atheism is a religion too. Is a void filled with emptyness? No, it's not filled with anything, it's empty you morons! Atheism is the absence of religious belief. How can you have a religion without religious belief? Is simple logic out of your grasp? Sniffed too much glue after school?

I don't care that these ignorant farts are 12 years old moral relativists who don't know how to spell, they still need to go fuck themselves.

I don't mind having an arguement with someone who isn't a fucking ignorant prick. I can disagree respectfully with someone who's logic didn't come out of his rectum. I don't even mind if people are religious, one of my best friend is a Christian and we never had any arguement at all about religion. But if your critical thinking skills are so flawed you can't even make the difference between 1 and 0, fuck respect and fuck you! You deemed fit to waste my time with your ignorant opinion, I'm gonna have you know how unpleasant it was. Civility has it's limits and so does my patience.

Now, if you think this post is aimed at you, no it isn't. It's cute that you think I would remember who you are, but you're not that lucky. This entry isn't aimed at anyone in particular, it's aimed at the part of humanity that thinks reality will bent to their fit their views. It looks like I got banned from DeviantArt after criticizing the hypocrisy of some admins who were violating policies themselves.
The Admin Suzi9mm violates a lot of DA policies, but they're not enforced on her because she's also a sponsor... talk about conflict of interest.
As a result, I seem banned for the moment and the Policy Gestapo performed a raid through my gallery and even deleted some Miss Dynamite anime episodes.
I wouldn't really care about being banned if it wasn't that I know a lot of people through DeviantArt.
