First colored page of Faster Dynamite -link fixed

How's the sunlight on the right? Too much? Good? It feels a bit weird coloring pages that are 4 years old. There's a lot of things I draw differently now, mistakes I'd like to correct. But I've got until August to color 70 69 pages, so I can't waste time on details.

Miss Dynamite published in french!

I was waiting for this to be official to talk about it, but the Québec editor 400 Coups is going to publish a Miss Dynamite hard-cover, in color (as part of their Rotor collection)! Available in Québec and France in October. Most of it will consist of pages published in my fanzines, but I will draw a new 9 page introduction to Miss Dynamite. Of course, I also need to color the whole thing. So with Sister Wulfia Focka, Miss America and now this, I'm going to close the commissions for now. (probably until this summer)

The Bible promotes abortion

I thought I knew about most of the contradictions between the Bible and what its followers believe, but this is a shocker. (I don't claim to be the first one to find this.)

We already know that it's legal to kill a pregnant woman if the conception is from an extra-marital affair or prostitution. (Deuteronomy 22: 21) I won't copy/pasta cuz it's a bit long, but in Numbers 5: 12 to 31 unfaithfull women who have fallen pregnant are told to go to the priest. The priest will give them "bitter water", the woman's belly will swell, her thigh will rot and she will miscarry. Abortion existed in various methods in those days and the description seems pretty obvious. (I'm reminded of the death of a major character in Rome season 2.)

It's abortion in the interest of the husband's honor, not the woman's health, but it is what it is.

Dirk Benedict, who played Starbuck in the original Battlestar Galactica is butthurt because now Starbuck has a vagina. His post's title is Lt. Starbuck... Lost in Castration. Oh wow, that's... pathetic. It's on some sort of blog for Hollywood conservative losers who feel they are persecuted for their bigoted beliefs. Read at your own peril, because it's really retarded, but here's a quote of choice.

How to browse suspicious URLs? -FIXED

Is there a way to check a suspicious website while making sure you don't get infected with a virus?

Like if someone on MSN sends you a link, but you're not sure if it's legit or if that person's computer is infected and sending malicious links to everyone. Perhaps some sort of text browser? My web browser is Opera, so I'm safe from any Active X attacks, but not 100% from other crap.

Also, sorry if my updates aren't more substantial, I'm working on my Wulfia Focka update. I'll draw some new Miss Dynamite pages next week.

FIXED: Opera already has an option to disable plug-ins and java.

Porn Up; Rape Down

While the nationwide incidence of rape was showing a drastic decline, the incidence of rape in the four states having the least access to the internet showed an actual increase in rape over the same time period. This result was almost too clear and convincing, so to check it I compiled figures for the four states having the most access to the internet. Three out of four of these states showed declines (in New Jersey, an almost 50% decline). Alaska was an anomaly: it increased both in internet access and incidence of rape. However, the population of Alaska is less than one-tenth that of the other three states in its category. To adjust for the disparity in population, I took the combined population of the four states in each table and calculated the percentage change in the rape statistics:

Four states with lowest internet access Increase in rape of 53%
Four states with highest internet access Decrease in rape of 27%

Console Wars

Random question, just like that,
Is the fundamentalism and brand loyalty over video game consoles a thing of the past? I remember when I made fun of the Playstation 2 with Miss Dynamite a few years back (for no other reason than the release of the PS2 was a current event) I got hate mail about it... and GameCube/Xbox users were giving me high-5s.

Of all things to get angry about, I was flabbergasted. It's just overpriced pieces of electronics. Does that kind of attitude still exist? It seems to be less prevalent, but my knowledge of gaming is limited to the DS and Animal Crossing... at least you can count on Miss Dynamite not becoming another gaming webcomic.

Another major American industry is asking for assistance as the global financial crisis continues: Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis said Wednesday they will request that Congress allocate $5 billion for a bailout of the adult entertainment industry.

Seriously, the Canadian/US exchange rate is somewhat back to normal now. But from 2003 (I wonder what happened that year, uh?) to mid-2008 I lost money as the US dollar spiraled down the drain. And unlike GM, who was making products nobody needed, I make fapping material people desperatly need. So I deserve bailout money a lot more than every last ones of these fuckers.

Miss America page 1 sketch

Enough writing for now. Unlike most of my previous comics, I'm not going to write every lines of story and dialogues before I start drawing. I've got a structure in 4 acts, turning points and an idea for the finale. So I'm not flying blind into this, that's the important part. I'm gonna finish at least 10 pages or more before I start officialy updating this webcomic, to have a good backup in case I gotta stop. Next step here is inking and shading in Flash. Like most backgrounds in this comic, the first panel will not be inked, only shaded.
